I'm specialized in hyperrealistic caricatures. I always try to capture the soul of the subject, using my skills in traditional art for creating a very detailed piece using traditional or digital painting.

I'm aware that a good character desing is fundamental for any project that really wants to succeed. I have a lot of experience creating characters for many different fields such as animation, videogames, mascots, amusement parcs and product packaging.

WHO AM I?

Jaume Cullell

I was born in Montornés del Vallés, Barcelona, in 1983, and since I can remember I've always been drawing and painting.
I started my professional career as storyboard artist for advertising in 2004. Soon later I started working in the animation industry, doing character design.
It was around 2009 when I found that my real passion was painting , and specially painting caricatures. Since then I've been working as a freelance illustrator doing jobs for magazines, advertising, product packaging, amusement parks, book covers, boardgames....
In 2015 I founded, with a group of colleagues the Spanish Association of Caricaturists, to promote and dignify the art of caricature.
In 2020 I had 2020 I had the great opportunity to illustrate the cover of Bloomberg Newsweek magazine for the USA.

Parallel to my job as illustrator I've been working as art teacher since 2007 always trying to spread the passion and love for drawing and painting.
